I have always loved the sea. I believe that we can create anything we want if we combine the faith that we can achieve it and action to make it happen.
Recently, I was speaking to a friend and I shared my desire to live in a glass house on the beach. I have a photograph of one on my vision board, and there is one close to where I live that I often stare at when walking my dog.
Her response made me dig deep and think hard about how the mind is so powerful and how it can really damage our lives if we are not careful. She said ‘WOW. IT’S NICE TO HAVE DREAMS. GOOD LUCK WINNING THE LOTTERY. IT’S THE ONLY WAY YOU WILL BE ABLE TO AFFORD THAT KIND OF HOUSE.’
I think this is a conversation that will stay with me for life. It’s not about the beach house or winning the lottery. It is about self-limiting beliefs, being able to notice them so they positively impact your life rather than limiting your potential.
It got me thinking about all the ‘dream’ beach houses in my city, and all around the world. Are you telling me every single one of those has been bought from winnings? NOPE. Didn’t think so. It is perfectly possible to earn that house, through belief and action.
