I have always been close to my family.
However, I am ashamed to say that there have been many times in the past where I have not given them my attention.
I vividly recall this deep conversation I was having with my father a few years ago, and I could hear my work phone going off and frantically buzzing in my pocket. All I could think about was work, the next deadline, my career and how important all of that was and wishing he would just hurry up and finishing what he was saying.
It knew that it was wrong but I didn’t have the awareness that I have now to change the situation.
We have all witnessed families sitting around a table at a restaurant, all glued to a device or couples on a date night both scrolling on their phones.
That conversation with my father where I didn’t HEAR A SINGLE THING HE SAID because I had no boundaries with my phone will continue to be a reminder of how important they are, especially when it comes to our mobile/cell phones.
What boundaries do you have for your phone?
